Our firm has been retained to conduct the search for a Senior Vice President of Operational Finance for a not-for-profit, integrated healthcare system serving more than 3.5 million people in the Carolinas and Virginia.  Ranked as one of our nation’s best healthcare systems, our client employs more than 26,000, including a 1000+ physician medical group that is still growing. 

Overall growth has been significant over the last few years.  The system has 11 hospitals with more than 3,000 beds and three long-term care/assisted living facilities with an additional 350 beds.  In addition, other facilities include outpatient surgery centers, community health outreach programs and a national organization with 92 diagnostic imaging centers in 13 states.

Reporting to the EVP of Finance (the CFO), the successful candidate will provide oversight and leadership to the market-based operational finance teams who are responsible for financial statement analysis, budget, and business unit analysis.  In addition, this position will lead the strategic financial systems team responsible for decision support, labor productivity, financial benchmarking, and cost accounting.  This position is a key point of contact for senior management and healthcare system management at all levels. 

We are seeking candidates who have had at least 10 years of progressive financial healthcare experience and significant responsibility for hiring, training, and managing people in a high quality healthcare environment.  Candidates will be proven leaders with strong communication skills and educational credentials – preferably a CPA and/or MBA.
