Search Milestones
Developing the Specifications Face-to-face meetings with the hiring executive, board or search committee and other senior managers allow us to develop a thorough, written position description. This is a crucial step in the process. Often, we spend an entire day on site gathering data and learning the culture.
Targeting Candidates Using the position profile as a guide, we assemble a candidate slate using our personal networks, a state-of-the-art database, proactive outreach, and search specific resources.
Narrowing the Focus We evaluate candidates’ accomplishments and style through initial telephone interviews. We then validate our judgment of the potential match with preliminary referencing.
Assessing the Match When a good match seems likely, we meet with candidates in person to make sure the fit is right. These meetings are comprehensive and, on average, last two to three hours.
Introducing the Candidates Before meeting the finalists, our client receives detailed written candidate profiles, including thorough comparisons of each candidate’s strengths and weaknesses relative to the position description.
Conducting References At this stage, we spend more time with references with first hand knowledge of each candidate's professional accomplishments and personal style.
Negotiating the Offer Clients frequently ask us to draft the offer letter and/or serve as an intermediary during potentially sensitive negotiations. We also assist in structuring and negotiating the offer.
Maintaining Contact Throughout the first year and beyond we stay in touch with the hiring executive and the successful candidate. In doing so, we ensure a smooth transition and the continued satisfaction of both parties.
